“Busted in with the freshest two-steps so she knows that I’m right”

Debut single from new wave/electro duo Kids Of 88. The track is currently #4 on the New Zealand charts.

Video directed by Jacob Thomas.
(C) Dryden Street 2009.

This video has gained some popularity in Europe (Katerine Avgoustakis was on Belgium’s equivalent of American Idol) and I believe the song is #1 in Poland. Not a bad take on 50 Cent’s hit from 2007.

Australian Isabel Lucas

Australian Isabel Lucas

A nice addition to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Ms. Lucas is perhaps better than Megan Fox. Lucas is a former Australian soap opera star who is also involved in activism. She was also the passenger in SUV Shia LaBeouf managed to crash last year.

Tons of remixes at the Hype Machine. Not as good as 1982’s Thriller on cassette, however.

Phish asked to change name

Days after reprimanding President Obama for killing a fly, PETA has issued a statement with the desire that the band Phish chanage its name to something with a cuter connotion - Sea Kitten. Why? Because PETA has an on-going campaign to save the fish (sea kittens). The logic behind the madness is that people supposedly [...]

Super inflation bank notes have a lot of zeroes

Hyper-inflation has resulted from time to time, most notably during World War II, and most recently in Zimbabwe. The world went crazy after Zimbabwe’s annual inflation rate hit an estimated 2.31 x 10^8 percent, or 40-50 million percent per month. However, inflation rates have been billions of times worse (in the case of post-WWII Hungary).

How to solve an odd Windows error? Reformat.

Bottom line: In some cases, reformatting a hard drive and re-installing the OS is less of a hassle than problem solving the initial error. Assuming you back up your data regularly, it’s just a matter of importing everything and reinstalling applications once the OS is active. This can be easy achieved in under 3 hours.

What you will find at a Renaissance Faire

Renaissance Faires exist in almost every state and can be great fun for everyone. Why?

Roaming bands of pirates
Countless groups of drunks with full mugs
Yards of cleavage
Fife music
More bawdy jokes than you can handle, especially after eating a large pickle
Tired-looking horses who just want to march in parades
A cute queen who may or may not make [...]

$5 says the new Black Eyed Peas song will hit #1

Black Eyed Peas - “I Gotta Feeling” was the #3 song in terms of radio adds last week, according to All Access. It has everything people look for these days - simple lyrics coupled to a buildling  dance beat. The only obstacle could be “Birthday Sex” by Jeremih, but it probably is too much of [...]

Remembering the Bloop

We’re approaching the 12th anniversary of ‘The Bloop’, an ultra-low frequency sound detected multiple times throughout the summer of 1997. The sound, heard on multiple sensors over 3000 miles apart, was recorded an exists here. Based on the frequency, scientists have determined the tentative creature (The Bloop is believed to be biological in origini) to [...]

Jumping out of a 5-story window won’t stop the nagging

Somehow (possibly due to the myth that alcohol makes your body relaxed and therefore more resilient to impacts) a Russian man survived not one, but two five-story falls. And he had three bottles of vodka in his system. What a great story of husband-wife relations:
Alexei Roskov says he jumped the second time because he couldn’t [...]

Double sneezing probably is inherited

Have you ever noticed that, in general, some people only sneeze once at a time and some always sneeze twice? Have you ever wondered why this happens? Well, there may or may not be a definite answer. First, some folklore from the Persians and Japanese:
A widespread belief in Persian folk tradition considers a single sneeze to be [...]

The peacocks of Arcadia, California

Imagine taking a shortcut through a suburban neighborhood only to find hordes of peacocks walking the streets. They perch in trees, stomp on flowers, aggregage on roofs, and shriek like whiny babies. Although feral peacocks are rare in most parts of the world, they are quite common near the Arboretum of Los Angeles. Why? Well, [...]
