I have your car towed all the way to your house and all you’ve got for me is *lite* beer? – Biff
I always love watching Back to the Future. It was pretty much on television every weekend of the 90s and still shows up fairly often. RottenTomatoes gives it 95%. Not too many movies feature Libyan terrorists and a good-looking high school girlfriend? It’s just great to see the similarities between 1955 and 1985 as the film studies the connections between two generations. The Delorean is cool too. Needless to say, I fell in love with the soundtrack:
1. The Power Of Love – Huey Lewis And The News 2. Time Bomb Town – Lindsey Buckingham 3. Back To The Future – The Outatime Orchestra 4. Heaven Is One Step Away – Eric Clapton 5. Back In Time – Huey Lewis And The News 6. Back To The Future Overture – The Outatime Orchestra 7. The Wallflower (Dance With Me Henry) – Etta James 8. Night Train – The Starlighters 9. Earth Angel (Will You Be Mine) – The Starlighters 10. Johnny B. Goode – The Starlighters
Huey Lewis and the News just scream 80s, Time Bomb Town is mellow and smooth, and Eric Clapton delivers as usual. The orchestral pieces, composed by Alan Silvestri are fantastic as well and provide needed suspense. The final four songs appear in the Enchantment Under the Sea scenes from 1955. Earth Angel just turns into a jam at 2:20. One great song featured in the movie but not the soundtrack is “Mr. Sandman” by The Chordettes. Just classic 50s.
Last year I signed my name on the website of the McFly 2015 Project. McFly 2015 is “a grassroots movement to get Nike to make available to consumers the futuristic-looking sneakers seen in the 1989 movie Back to the Future Part 2.” Nike recently released a similar shoe, the Hyperdunk. Too bad there’s still no hoverboard. Maybe by 2015.
