The Star Ledger on NJ.com broke me the news that I had not won the elusive Mega Millions jackpot:
The winning Mega Millions lottery numbers drawn tonight for the jackpot worth an estimated $333 million were: 1, 17, 31, 37 and 54 with the Mega Ball, 31.
Apparently matching the 17 and 31 isn’t good enough – you need at least 3 numbers to win. And by win, I mean barely break even. Regardless, we can learn two important lessons:
- People love probability and statistics
- People love to fantasize
