J. Crew tag from the early 90's?

If only there were a site dedicated to profiling old clothing company logos…Just for fun. The Internet Archive can be of some assistance, but only dates back to 1996. Trolling eBay for hours isn’t efficient and neither is inquiring at a current retail store – few employees have worked at the same company for more than a few years.

In the case of the swimsuit tag pictured above, we can determine the age is probably pre-1996 due to the lack of a period after the ‘J’. The company started as catalog-only in 1983, with the first retail store opening in 1989. This suggests the logo in question is from 1989-1996. The process of deduction can work wonders, but a seven-year window is far from ideal.
