Screencap from the early stages of Grum's "Can't Shake This Feeling". Things get messy after here {youtube}

A couple of weeks late, but better than never – please watch this in 720p. I first heard Grum back in June 2008 when I discovered their remix of Anoraak’s “Nightdrive With You”. It was a fine remix, but not my favorite of that track. At the same time, I also heard various remixes of Grum’s “Go Back”. They were a bit too harsh, so I let Grum slide for a couple of months.

Finally, enter the Bestrack remix of “Woah” in October 2008. The song, although only an instrumental, had some impressive electro riffs. Needless to say, it made my monthly personal playlist.

Now, nearly 6 months later, Grum has returned with a more commercial (but more listenable) sound. Every music blog posted the video for “Can’t Shake This Feeling”. The track itself is widely acclaimed, but a fair share of reviewers disprove of the uninspiring, unoriginal, and demeaning nature of the video. I have to agree that Simian Mobile Disco’s “Hustler” video did a better job conveying the same message. Still, the women are pleasing on the eyes during the introduction.

Purchase from Beatport. Also, be sure to check out the must-have Grum Remix of Prior’s “What You Need.”
