A major reason why relatively few people follow the women’s NCAA basketball tournament is that only one team has a chance of winning. No team in the tournament should be scoring twice as many points as its opponents. Such margins of victory are understandable in high school, but should not be seen at the top of the collegiate level. The solution: develop better teams. If UConn can do it, so can at least ten other programs.
